HOW TO USE – Very simply, just use the rope to hang the Drum set around your neck, and use both your left, and right hands to gently bang either side of the drum, to create the intended rhythmic sounds the drum is meant for. The drum can be tuned by adjusting the rope wrapped around the drum by pulling it closer to, or away from the center of the wooden portion of the drum
TRADITION – It is widely used in classical dance. It is often used in Indian film music, and the local Indian folk music of Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Caribbean, South Africa, Mauritius, and Trinidad and Tobago, where it was brought by indentured immigrants. Title: Great price, surprisingly good sound.
Review: Although there’s no actual visible wood (faux wood design) at least I know they didn’t use a plain Tang container! I still don’t mind supporting artisans saving a buck. It actually has decent sound! One side is 360Hz (Gb tuned to 432Hz @ A) and 90Hz on the other just as playable side which also happens to be GB (G flat)! This is a shocker to me. And the best price I could find for this size.
