Title: Beautiful sound, beautiful build
Review: Having had a classical guitar education since my early adolescent years, I have a very fond appreciation for nylon string guitars. This option, at this price, is terrific value for experts and beginners alike. The build is so smooth and has a very nice finish, it feels sturdy without feeling heavy, and light enough to be carried around by teenagers and adults alike. It’s also not prohibitively small nor large, allowing most hand sizes, like the small ones I have, to be able to hit all notes (even the dreaded F#) without difficulty.I also can’t overstate how nice it sounds. It has a beautiful, airy feel to it that only the best nylon classical guitars can have, and the strings that come with the guitar are perfect to start playing it as soon as the guitar arrives and is tuned.I’ve been playing classical guitar for decades, and this was a great choice to jump back in after a hiatus of a couple of years. Whether you are looking to help a growing kid learn a new art from scratch, looking to start playing classical guitar yourself, or are an advanced maestro needing a spare nylon guitar somewhere, this choice is incredible value for the money. I love it!

Title: Great Buy!
Review: This guitar punches WAY above it’s price point as many have already said. Mine had a slight ding so I got a discount but the ding is so small that you don’t even notice it. The guitar is very well set up. The action is very nice and the sound is really excellent as well. The tuners are smooth. I changed the strings and the G string actually sounds normal which is a bit unusual especially at this price point. There’s really nothing negative to say about it. Highly recommended.

Title: fantastic for the money
Review: Yep. The hype is real.I bought a Cordoba C5CE years ago, loved it. Sadly, I sold it for some reason. So after looking, i found this popular Yamaha. I’ve always respected Yamaha musical instruments…I grew up playing the PSR 280 keyboard and it’s lasted for 20 years.I wanted something great but I didn’t wanna spend a lot of money. This seemed to fit the bill.So i got it in the mail, and yes, the hype is real. The thing is built cleanly and with precision for this price point. I consider $140 to be ridiculously cheap when I’m buying any instrument other than a Eukelele. So, for this much money, I’d normally expect complete garbage. But what we have hear, I think, is an example of excellent consolidation and streamlining. This guitar has no features meaning: no special top of the line woods, no electronics, no fancy graphics or inlays etc. They put all effort in making a rock solid, decent sounding instrument. Now, compared to my old Cordoba, it does not have that “wow” factor in terms of tone. But it does have the “goodness this thing is well balance and very playing” factor, couple with the “I only spend $140, this is insane” factor. So, if you are needing a nylon string to keep around for various projects, gigs, and occasional professional needs, and you are on a budget, get this.Like wise, if you are wanting something that just grab and play for fun at the office or in the living room, get this.I’m a professional player, so let me tell you knew guys: a nylon string is a fantastic instrument for a beginner to get started on because it’s easy to play, like an electric, and the neck is fat, so it’ll help you learn to splay your fingers properly.Likewise, for a pro or seasoned musician, this guitar is perfect to keep around because it’s light weight, easy to play, satisfying to noodle around on, and just feels and sounds great. As a keys player, i don’t play steal string as much as I could, so my fingers aren’t always 100% callused up. So this nylon is great to noodle around on, write with, keep handy. But, I also know it usable for recording purposes and live playing purposes when the needs arise for such an instrument.I feel great about this purchase, and yet again, Yamaha impresses me. Good job team.

Title: High Quality Guitar — and very affordable
Review: Was hesitant at first, so I looked at other guitars to compare. I took a risk and bought it and am very happy with its quality. The strings that came with it are great and don’t need replacing. It’s really light (3lbs), but well built at regular size. It’s looks beautiful and is comfortable to use for people of all heights and sizes. I highly recommend.

Title: Amazing value.
Review: You’re not going to find a nicer guitar at this price point, full stop. You may want to replace the strings (the included wound ones are very susceptible to wear) but that’s a cheap and easy fix. There’s even a nice little guide included that covers string replacements if you’ve never restrung a nylon instrument before. For people like me who are balling on a budget, Yamaha knocked it out of the park with this one. Excellent sound, no buzz (that other guy must have gotten a defective one), great action, and a lightweight but sturdy construction. This is the first budget instrument I’ve tried that doesn’t feel like a compromise. You may have some issues with quality control (always a risk buying instruments online), but Amazon has a good return policy so worst comes to worst you can get a replacement. Some things to note:- This is a full size guitar, it’ll probably be too big for younger kids. If you’ve got really young kids, try the Yamaha GL1. I don’t own one, but I’ve played one and was similarly impressed.- There’s only one fret marker on this thing, at the 7th fret. You can get a pack of these for under ten bucks on here, so probably do that if you’re newer to guitar.- Don’t put steel strings on this. They do this at guitar stores all the time with used classical guitars, and it damages the neck over time. They’re designed for nylon and it sounds great with nylon anyway.- Skip the pick. It’s bad on the strings and you’re missing out on one of the best parts of classical guitar if you’re not fingerpicking. That’s about it. If you’re on the fence, go for it. You’ll be impressed.

Review: As a beginner, I did a lot of research online and found that the Yamaha C40II Classical Guitar came highly recommended for its quality and suitability for learning. Now that I’ve had the chance to use it, I can confidently say it’s a fantastic choice for anyone starting out.The sound quality is impressive, especially for a guitar in this price range. It has a rich, warm tone that makes practicing enjoyable. The nylon strings are gentle on the fingers, which is perfect for beginners like me who are still building up calluses. The build of the guitar is sturdy and feels well-made. It stays in tune nicely, and the playability is smooth and comfortable. The full-size design is comfortable to hold and play, even for extended practice sessions.Overall, I’m really pleased with my purchase of the Yamaha C40II. It’s an excellent guitar for beginners who want a reliable instrument to start their musical journey. Plus, the reputation of Yamaha for quality and durability reassures me that I made the right choice. Highly recommended!
