This product helps prevent discoloration of pool water due to iron, calcium, manganese, copper and other metals and minerals which may be present in the water supply. This product is an excellent general purpose sequestrant which helps protect plumbing and pool walls from rust, stain and scale. It should be used for all pool openings and closings and throughout the season as needed. For initial filling of pool, if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected, add one quart of Metal Free for each 10,000 gallons of pool water. Add Metal Free while the pool is being filled and before chlorine is added. To correct an existing colored water problem (due to the presence of minerals in the pool water), first close the pool to all swimmers. Leave the filter pump running. Stop chlorinating the pool and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Lower the pH of the pool water to 6.8 with pH Lower, lowering the pH will re-dissolve the metallic impurities. Add one quart of Metal Free per 10,000 gallons of water and allow the pool water to circulate overnight, or until the water is clear. Re-adjust the pH of the pool water between 7.2-7.8 with pH Rise. Begin normal chlorination and pool operation. Swimming may resume when chlorine residual is 1.0-3.0 ppm. To make up for loss of Metal Free due to backwashing and/or splash-out, add one quart of Metal Free for each 20,000 gallons of pool water, once each month.

Title: Works well
Review: I have been fighting yellow staining all summer! Alge & metal in the water. This worked well, took a cple treatments, like once a week for a cple weeks. Scrub, & rinse filters in between treatments. Finally back to white. I take water samples to Leslie’s every cple weeks if I’m having visible issues & they tell me what to do to fix it. They have their own brand $$ but this brand is good too.

Title: Works Great!
Review: We live in Midwest and have a yellow tint to our water due to crops/fields/tannin etc. This makes my pool water clear and removes yellow tint. Works great and use after we add water to pool in spring time.

Title: Was hesitant but it worked well with another method
Review: I was very hesitant to use this in our pool but it worked good with also doing other iron removal methods. We have hard well water so the iron in the water made it very dirty looking even though it wasnât. Adding the metal out and doing the sock method (check out YouTube for that) our pool was clear after a week. The first two photos are 5 days apart and the third is what it cleared ended up looking like after a few more days. We do not have new water running through our pool constantly so we only needed to use one bottle of the metal out. I do not think that using just the metal out wouldâve been effective, the sock method was a big help in getting all of the iron out.

Title: Use before anything else when opening pool!
Review: If you have well water, use this before adding any other chlorine to remove metals! It worked wonders for our pool.

Title: Did nothing for me
Review: I have staining that appeared on my pool liner this year, but this treatment did absolutely nothing for me. It’s possible my issue just wasn’t appropriate for this stain remover, but it was a swing and a miss trying this chemical to remove light brown stains from my pool liner. Absolutely no improvement at all.

Title: Did not work at all
Review: Stains on my pool steps and plastic parts. These are definitely metal stains as vitamin C insantly lifts them away. However this sequesterant did nothing. I even added bit more than required per 10k gallon. Recirculating for 24 hours and see absolutely no difference to any stains. Will stick to weekly vitamin C instead. Absolute waste of money.
