Title: Works great, soft
Review: I thought these would be like biscuit texture, but were soft, chewy. Pills fit in perfectly, and easily covered. My dog loved them and ate her pill in one gulp.

Title: How we keep the cost down on this great product
Review: I would echo what many others have said about the Greenies being heaven-sent. Our two chihuahuas get a mix of bitter-tasting herbs/supplements, and the Pill Pockets have proven to be the easist, most effective (and most fun!) way to get them to take their daily dose (powders/tinctures which I mix up with a little coconut oil, divide into pea-sized “pills” and freeze). Our dogs like the Pill Pockets so much we use them as training treats! They’re kind of pricey, but I use them in a way that not only works better for our small dogs, it’s much less expensive! :o)When I first tried to give the pills in whole Pill Pockets, they were just too big for our 11-14 pound dogs to swallow without chewing (and discovering that there was yucky-tasting stuff inside, and spitting them out), so I needed to make them smaller and more “trustworthy”. So in addition to reducing the size (and cost!) as I’ll describe next, I also got them hooked on the treats by only giving small pieces of empty Pill Pocket a few times, until their suspicion abated. Now what I do is divide each (large) Pill Pocket into 4 quarters, and flatten a piece out into a concave oval on my palm with my thumb (they’re about the consistency of play-doh or clay, and very maleable). Then I fold/smoosh/seal it around the pill, being careful not to get the scent/taste of the pill onto the outside of the Greenie. Before offering the Pill Pocket, I divide one of the other quarters into pea-sized treats. After a big build-up (“Who… would like… a… SPECIAL TREAT!!”),I give them each one of the little pill-less treats (after a simple command like “sit” or “stay”–giving it as part of a training situation, followed by lots of praise, seems to get them even more enthusiastic about getting the treat)that they won’t stop to inspect or even chew it). Then I give them the treat with the pill inside, and they’re so excited, they don’t stop to inspect or even chew it. They wolf it down so fast they obviously have no idea it has their nasty-tasting supplements in it (MSM, Dogzymes Ultimate and Verm-X for immune system enhancement and parasite prevention). I follow up with some other less expensive, but well-liked treats. If you have larger pills, or larger dogs, you might only be able to cut the PillPocket into 2-3 pieces, but then you’re still cutting the cost by 2-3 times as well (and possibly making it easier for your dog to swallow without finding the pill). One note that may or may not be relevent to your situation–I wanted to save time, so made up a batch of the Greenie-wrapped pills to keep in the frige. Unfortunately, the flavor/scent of the herbs/supplements apparently leeched into the Greenie layer, and the dogs didn’t want anything to do with them. So now I just make them on the spot–it only takes a few moments, and I use the time to call the dogs and tell them about how tasty it’s going to be, etc., and it’s just become part of the treat ritual. :o)Additional FYI use for anxious dogs/cats: I also use pill pockets with L-Theanine

Title: Work Great & Pliable
Review: I prefer these pill pockets with my dogs over other brands and have tried several. Others are often dry and not pliable like these are. There are many pills/capsules that require the entire pocket for just 1 pill. My dogs were smart and if any part was exposed it was a no go. So these pockets are soft like dough and stay that way as long as you keep them sealed.*I’d mold them evenly around the larger oval capsule and pills. The other side to this is that for smaller pills 1 pocket is kind of an overkill. However if your dog is on more than one small pill just flatten it and put the pills in rolling and molding it around them. Literally just seconds. If you only use the pill pockets for 1 small pill and nothing more, then just pinch off what ya need to cover it and leave the rest in the bag for next time. My dogs loved getting them. They were not seen any differently than any other treat. They did eat all the flavors at some point in their lives but the PB was definitely the favorite.*Only 1 thing I absolutely DISLIKE about these pill pockets is the resealable ziplock top. Don’t get me wrong it is absolutely REQUIRED. I just think it is a VERY POOR version. In 16yrs of having dogs, injuries, surgeries, allergies, infections etc I have maybe had 5 bags in which the ziplock device functioned correctly. The last 5 years we go thru a big bag a month. So that’s not very many working resealable top. Here’s the problem. The ziplock/sealing part works just fine although it is very thing and nothing like the quality of day an actual ziplock bag. The problem is with whatever they use as an adhesive, connecting the male/femal pieces to each side of the bag. As already stated, 98% of the time one or both sides would rip apart from the bag itself when opening or unlocking them to get a pill pocket out. If it had the little white zipper that slid across the top sealing the bag, it’d be much more effective. However, I just would store the entire bag inside a gallon size ziplock. Otherwise they dry up and all the good stuff I said about them goes out the window. Probably could empty them into a smaller ziplock but the pkg they come in has more structure and helps keep them from getting totally smashed. I can’t be the only person having this issue and it seems the case no matter where they’re purchased. Clearly a manufacturing issue. Otherwise they are perfect.

Title: Who needs a spoonful of sugar when you’ve got pill pockets?!
Review: My fur-baby, Bella Jo, is a “raggle”—rat terrier and beagle mix—is a spoiled rotten little joy! She is a bit high strung, and way too smart for her own good. She loves peanut butter, and I have always covered pills in peanut butter for my labs, which was all that was needed. These pill pockets are wonderful! Bella Jo gets to taste the peanut butter, but she can’t lick the peanut butter off to leave the pill behind. The pocket is super soft and easily chewed. When I open the bag, there are 60 round cup-like pockets for me to fill with the pill and pinch shut. Bella Jo thinks she’s getting a treat, and her medicine goes down! The ingredients are safe and vet-approved. Pill pockets are worth every penny for my fur-baby to get what she needs to remain healthy. Pill pockets are easy to use, and thus far, they have never let me down.

Title: Dog loves them
Review: Our minpin loves these. They’re big enough that we only give her half of one for each pill, saves money that way too. They stay soft for her little mouth too. They are a bit oily, but probably have to be due to ingredients.

Title: Desirable by pets
Review: I have worked in vet med for over 10 years now. Pill pockets are the best thing when it comes to giving your dogs meds! The hickory flavor does the trick the best, and I even break the pill pockets in half so they last longer. Definitely recommend for whenever you need to give your pets meds.
