Title: Great product that is crucial to installing treads
Review: This product is completely required (in my opinion) to install treads correctly. Combined with my track saw, i was able to install hardwood steps with no real prior experience. These are good quality and cheap. You just need to cut a piece of trim to roughly fit the opening and crank down when you get the tread angles. Great product that got me a great result.

Title: Doesn’t come with a center rod
Review: Pros:Was easy to use.Made my cuts pretty exact so it didn’t leave large gaps between flooring and drywall.Cons:Didn’t come with a center rod/stick/pole.No labeling to keep the template consistent. I ended up using a sharpie to label left right and up (towards riser).Overall it is exactly what I needed. I also had to cutoff my stair overhangs so I happened to have a 3/4 inch thick OSB stick which was my stair width to use as the center rod. Just label it like I did to remember how your cut flooring will fit on the stairs.

Title: A time-saving must for D.I.Y.’ers!
Review: I got this stair tread tool for my mother who likes to build shelves for her various plants. With this helpful tool, she was able to utilize an awkward corner of her home by customizing a shelf to fit perfectly. She was impressed by how much time a tool like this saves compared to building one the traditional way. Now she can properly show off her succulent collection as well as her carpentry skills. I previously bought her another kind that had engraved measurements but we found that the markings were way off! So I returned that and got this instead which was a much better bargain even though it doesn’t have built-in measurements (most people already own a ruler or measuring tape anyway). This particular stair tread tool had a great price, and more importantly, is heavy-duty with knobs that fasten securely to ensure a precise fit. Since we live in the age of YouTube and Pinterest, anyone can learn to be crafty and now D.I.Y.’ers can execute projects with professional quality using this stair tread tool.

Title: Good enough template thingy
Review: Bought this to DIY a staircase with some vinyl plank flooring. Attached the brackets to a 1×2 piece of wood.It worked pretty darned well, all things considered. There were a couple stairs I had to remeasure/recut, I think I might have bumped the tread tool and it shifted a little on the wood. So maybe a metal span would have worked better. But this tool was very easy to use and a big help.We’re overall very happy with the results.

Title: I’ve just done one step riser with this tool and LOVE it!
Review: I’m looking forward to using this tool to redo all my stairs in the house. It would be impossible without this tool. You just have to have a piece of wood to place between the ends. I used the 1/2 ” I cut off the end of a step subfloor – prefect!

Title: Well made, but didn’t work for me.
Review: I’d return this if it weren’t that I know it will be very handy some day. The issue I had is that the house I’m working in was framed by drunken monkeys and nothing is square. Once I get the measuring device into position, I can’t get it out without moving one end or the other because of the angles of the construction.Get it, it’s cheap, usable, and helpful, BUT have a plan B ready if the same monkeys build your house.
