Title: Works great under my garage utility sink!
Review: So… one of the better home improvement projects I’ve done is add a utility sink in my garage (thanks to a crawl space behind the garage wall). A utility sink out there is great for washing oily hands, paint brushes, vacuum cleaner filters, the dog, etc. My wife has taken up pottery, which requires a sediment trap to keep clay and slurry from going down the drain. Her wheel is in the garage. She had heard about the Gleco Trap in pottery class, so I thought I’d give it a try.It is an excellent solution and works great. No leaks at all so far. Installation is easy if you are familiar with basic plumbing, but I’m sure just about anyone could install this themselves (or call a real plumber). It came with all the 1-1/2″ PVC parts needed to hook it up to our utility sink, except that since our wall drain outlet was lower than usual, I had to pick up a couple more 90 degree elbows at the local hardware store to make it work out. Instructions were good and clear. The top of the bucket has two threaded outlets that connect to standard 1-1/2″ pipe connections, one coming down from the sink and one going out to the drain. Any sediment heavier than water settles to the bottom of the bucket rather than being washed into the drain outlet where it would clog things up. It works like a gigantic P-trap.The best thing about the Gleco Trap HV is that you can see when the bucket is almost full, and replacing it with a new bucket is clean and quick. The threaded outlets in the bucket lid have extensions that trap air, so when you remove the red air plug, any water trapped in the plumbing drains down into the bucket. Then just loosen and raise the two slip joint connections, slide out the old bucket, slide a new empty one (sold as a refill) into the same spot, and reconnect the same way.I would definitely recommend Gleco Trap HV for home pottery studios and any sink where sediment might be a problem. The shorter 3.5 gallon version is the way to go for most home sink clearances.

Title: Saved my life LOL
Review: I own an art studio and never got around to getting a sink trap put in.Ordered this, good price, fast delivery, I will admit I know nothing about plumbing and sinks, so I had a friend install! My sink was like any in the examples they show on the instructions, but I reached out to the company, and they emailed me with exactly what to do, after I sent them pics of my sink.A+

Title: Wonderful to have something to catch the clay.
Review: This is seems to work well. But installation required some ingenuity. The instructions are “one size fits all.” And few people have the same drain set up. The instructions did try to anticipate some variables. But mine wasn’t one of them. Still, the package did contain enough extra piping and one can, if they stop to think things through, can cobble them together to make it good.No leaking so far.

Title: Gleco traps work
Review: Finally replaced my old, smaller Glecko trap with this larger one in my pottery studio I used the smaller version for well over 15 years in two different homes. I plan to put the older one in a new sink in the laundry room where I process a lot of produce from the garden. My old Glecko was a great clay trap, and I was glad to find that they now offer them with a larger reservoir. Very easy to clean. I expect this larger system will be more fool-proof than my old one. (I failed to drain once before disconnecting…. One of those mistakes not worth repeating)
