Amazing Benefits of Snails

Along with being a colorful and ornamental addition to your tank, freshwater snails have numerous other benefits. Snails are slow-moving foragers who love to eat just about anything they can find. Most snails will devour leftover fish food, debris, and plants. Unlike other bottom feeders, freshwater snails avoid eating fish eggs, making them a better option for breeding tanks.

By eating up all the extra components in your tank, it will keep the habitat clear so that you have complete aquarium maintenance sessions less often. From the popular nerite snails and mystery snails to Malaysian trumpet snails and Sulawesi snails, there are so many different types of snails to enjoy and add to your underwater world.

Key Selling Points:

Set of 50 highly beneficial Indian Almond LeavesHappier fish and snailsLow maintenance, easy to useCreates a tea water ambience

Easy to Use Catappa Leaves

As soon as the SunGrow Mini Catappa Leaves for Snails arrive, they are ready to be placed in your tank. They have already been dried and prepared for aquarium use. Drop a few of the 2” ketapang leaves onto the surface of your aquarium water, where they will slowly begin to float on the tank’s surface.

The leaves may float around for 2-3 days, but if you want them to reach the bottom sooner, you can soak the leaves separately before adding them to your aquarium. After a few weeks, the Indian Almond Leaves will wither or be eaten up by snails and fish. If there is any leftover leaf litter, it can easily be scooped out of your tank.

Mimics Their Native Teawater Surroundings

When you place the Mini Indian Almond Leaves into your aquarium water, you will notice that the water will begin to turn a brownish-yellow color. This is a visual indication that the catappa leaves are doing their job and providing your snails and fish with their beneficial compounds. The blackwater is home to many aquatic species in the wild, and when species are in their native ambience, they tend to thrive and grow stronger and healthier. These ideal tea water conditions keep your aquatic pets calm. For an even stronger brackish habitat, consider adding driftwood or low light plants such as java fern or anubias.

Title: Holly Cattapa Leaf!
Review: Ordered a bag of these and didn’t pay attention to the size. They are HUGE and well worth the money. My Bettas love them and they provide shady spots for them to chill. I just cut them into the sizes I want them. Only complaint is, you’d think for the size the tannins released would be ridiculous, but not much tint to the water.

Title: Tiny broken pieces
Review: I received a bunch of broken fragments of leaves. Maybe I could piece them together to make 50 leaves. There are better products out there. The one I loved had 100 count, 6-9 inch leaves, but is no longer available. And there’s no returns or refunds! Don’t bother with this product.

Title: Fast shipping!
Review: I didn’t realize these would make my water dark. They seem great. And look good. Maybe I’ll use them later for my snails. They came fast and are well packaged.

Title: Growing black stuff
Review: These leaves are growing some kind of black stuff on them as they rot. Snails and shrimp have zero interest in the leaves or the black stuff. I thought they would soften, but they are just hard and brittle. I didn’t want my water to darken because I have high light plants, but I wanted these for the snails and shrimp to munch on. Maybe I’m wrong and the black stuff is normal, but it looks unsightly to me and I think I’ll just stick to feeding them algae wafers instead.
