Title: Great personal cooler / a.c.
Review: I was hesitant to purchase due to mixed reviews, but have been very happy with the little cooler since I got it. It’s a very effective little swamp cooler type A.C.I live in the Southwest where it only gets down to the mid 90s at night right now, and I really dislike being hot.I use this little unit to cool myself down while cooking or getting ready etc. it’s much more cost effective than running the whole house A.C. Especially in this economy – and it’s very light & easy to move around & reposition.I followed suggestions and freeze the wet filter / insert, use very cold water and ice cubes and it works SO well in a small area.It is a swamp cooler type unit, so it does humidify the VERY dry air, so that’s a bonus for me. It doesn’t make much mess at all.The little blower fans on the front will periodically stop for a brief moment when water pools in them a bit, but it quickly drips back in to the unit & they blow again. It has 2 “cold” level settings, 3 regular fan settings : low, med and high, then a “turbo” setting. The 2nd cool setting and High fan setting work great for me. The water lasts about an hour and a half on those settings. It ran for about 5 hours on low for us.It does have lights you can change the colors, but I keep that turned off.Reviews said it runs for approximately “8 hours on low with a full charge”, but mine doesn’t run at all if it’s not plugged in; so I don’t understand that part.I believe it must mean runs for 8 hours off a full tank of water. Mine will not, even on the lowest settings, but I don’t need it to run that long.Overall, I am very pleased with the item and the value for the money.

Title: Be Prepared to Buy a Lot
Review: My late husband and I had an Arctic Air and it worked as far as it was able to, i.e., it’s a very tiny swamp cooler/fan. It’s not an AC unit however when we used it at night it did help us stay a bit cooler. Now my roommate and I bought 2 of these and life has certainly been interesting. On the first shipment only 1 worked. The company asks you to call them first. Why I have no idea since the only thing they could do is ship a replacement, 7-10 business days from now. Hello!!! It was Friday and the weekend temp on Sunday was scheduled to hit triple digits. And I’m very prone to heat exhaustion. So Amazon said they’d ship to arrive Sunday, which it did. I clearly told Amazon we’d just be returning 1 broken cooler so only needed 1 shipped. Sunday it came and there were 2 new units. I was going to return the second new one but thought about it and decided to keep the extra one so I’d have a second one for my bedroom. Set both up, turned them on and they put out cool air. A few hours later I refilled with water and ice and turned them back on. The second one refused to come back on. Zip, nada. Just sat there. Tried everything I could think of but I guess 3 hours was it’s lifetime. And there are several Arctic Air (some day Chill) but I can’t see a significant amount of difference to understand prices from $29 to $77. Anyway I got a 3 year protection plan so they haven’t seen the last of me yet. But personally I’d get a really good fan and 100# of ice. Put some ice in a big bowl in front of the fan and it see if it cools. I may just do that.

Title: Surprised
Review: I was surprised on how well it blew out cold air, by adding ice cubes and cold water. It does NOT cool a room not even a small one. This is good just for one or two people. We used it for camping in our tent. We bought a power bank/ small portable power station. To power it during the night and it helped keep us cool

Title: 10/10 RECOMMEND FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALWAYS HOT!
Review: I am hot all day, every day.One of the major reasons I moved from Florida to Alaska was to escape the heat and humidity. However, with extreme cold (Alaska) comes blazing heat inside most businesses here. My office building has windows that do not open, so I am at the whim of the building manager when it comes to heat. When I come in at 7am, it is 77 or 78 degrees on the floor my office is on. This makes me absolutely miserable. Not much I can do about it, since everyone seems to love it, or at least can tolerate it better than I. I tried using a fan for a while, but it seemed to pull in all of the dust and left me feeling sneezy and dry and having itchy, watery eyes all day long. Plus, I had to turn it off every time I answered the phone (I am a paralegal) because even on the lowest setting, it was too loud and it made it sound as though there was wind in the phone. Then I found this little baby. It could not have been easier to set up. I basically just unboxed it and filled it with water. I love that you can add ice cubes to the water tank (which is a bit on the small side, but I usually only have to add more water once a day during an 8 hour shift, mostly to not let it be dry) and that you can actually freeze the filter (which I have not even done yet, because just using this on the lowest fan setting has been amazing). This is essentially a glorified humidifier, which I thought I would hate (again, I left Florida for a reason), but with the inside heat blasting all day and no relief, my skin, sinuses, and eyes always felt super dry, so the addition of some humid air is actually very nice (I have very curly hair that gets super frizzy in wicked humid air, and I have not experienced any issues while using this machine). There are 3 different fan settings, and I have only used the lowest so far as it has been perfectly sufficient for my purposes in my small office. In addition, there are 2 turbo settings that definitely feel colder than just using the fan, but again, I have not felt the need to use them. You can also change the color of the light that is in the tank, which is a nice feature and would be more useful if this were being used in a bedroom, and although I don’t necessarily “need” to use it, I do enjoy having the light on in the tank, which you can toggle between colors, or you can set to rotate through the colors. Again, not necessary, but a fine feature.Overall, for $40, I am incredibly pleased. I am the type of person that just gets irrationally angry and cranky when it is too hot (for reference, even at -20 in Anchorage, I never have the heat in my apartment above 70) and I hate the stuffy feeling in my office where I am stuck all day long. This has been an absolute lifesaver, for more reasons than one, so if you’re on the fence or don’t think it will work for your needs, it absolutely will and you will thank yourself later for buying it!
