Title: A plethora of knowledge, right at your hands.
Review: I have an old issue of a competitor’s DIY, home repair manual. But it is 20 years out of date. The main thing I needed, was for electrical work. This is a very thought out and well laid out book. Broken down into terms. That just about anyone can understand. With lots of excellent photographs and explanations. I would absolutely recommend this. If you’re going to do any kind of home rewiring. Or new construction, as far as that goes.

Title: Great DIY Guide!
Review: B&D has become my 1st choice for DIY books. They donât skip the details that others sometimes leave out. I had a electrician give me quote on some work I thought was above my skill level. He saw my electrical work in our unfinished basement and said my work was better than the âprofessionalâ electriciansâ before me. I have B&Dâs Wiring Guide to thank for that. That said, I still stand on a pallet when working on a breaker box! LOL!With any electrical guide, you have to be aware that it canât be any more up to date than the current National Electric Code (NEC) at the time of authorship. They update it every 3 years. The updates are easy to find online.

Title: Great reference for homeowner
Review: This is a must have reference for all homeowners who need to do electrical work around the house. Great detailed explanations and great photos on how to get an electrical job completed from start to finish. Also gives you a good idea if you can handle the job at hand or call an electrician. Explains electrical terms in a common manner and what to ask for when buying electrical parts. Donât go in blind when doing electrical projects, get this manual.

Title: An incredible confidence builder.
Review: Electricity has always seemed a bit like dark magic to me. I can rewire a lamp and change out an outlet – but seeing bare wires is much like seeing your own bone. It just ain’t right.This book hits the right stride of explaining everything slowly and simply, while never treating me like I might be stupid.I almost lost it when I got to the part where electric math is taught. But I took a deep breath, kept reading, and learned how to do the math.This book was in no way an advertisement for Black & Decker tools. I was surprised and impressed that there weren’t many pictures of Black and Decker branded tools.I will need to read the book again a few times to become truly comfortable with electricity but so far I have found nothing wrong with the book.

Title: Just bought it a second time
Review: This book has taught me (a homeowner) a lot of what I know about wiring. The diagrams help make it easy to understand the electricity flow for simple and complex circuits, and it provides a lot of basic DIY instructions for rewiring your whole home.

Title: Information, schematics, and pictures are awesome.
Review: I purchased the binder edition so it would lie flat. The bottom of the cover near the binder coil was torn when I removed it from the shipping bag. Amazon…I would recommend better protection of this type book. I still gave it a 5 star due to the contents of the book. Highly recommend.

Review: Being a self-contractor, sometimes you need a little help. You to is helpful but can be confusing as well. This book shows you in color what, how, and what not to do. I love it. It’s my go to book prior to starting any electrical job. Highly recommend. Money well spent.
