Title: Vivid descriptions and good character writing
Review: You can always get a good feel for the skill of an author from the opening of a story. This one grabbed me in the first few paragraphs: the author strikes a nice balance between showing you the character’s internal thoughts without meandering monologues, and then mixes action and world-building immediately after.Black Market is interesting in that the protagonist starts out older, skilled, and much more willing to resort to violence than your usual isekai story. Much of his initial arc is thus more about exploring his new circumstances and how to apply his skills than about how his mindset and values adapt to deal with a dangerous world. LitRPGs are a bit hit or miss for me, and while I don’t mind the mechanics used here, I’d like to see the author do a story without them.Overall, very fun read. Much better written than the average isekai story.

Title: loved it canât wait for the next
Review: The reason I like this series so much is, itâs a fresh take in litrpg genre. You always see heroâs running around saving ppl, or saving the world/town. In this you really get a selfish MC who main focus is to build himself up and help HIS ppl but never to the disadvantage to himself. The author does a great job with making you want the bad guy to win. You canât go wrong with this one on your list and I feel given more time itâs going to be a real gem to the community. So if you donât want to read about someone saving the world, making dumb decisions to save someone from a monster 25 lvl above them just because or plot armor read this.

Review: Having Read it since it was on Royal road, I can confidently say it’s one of the best litrpg in the genre with a focus on raising a gang. Kyle is competent and scary when he needs to be and suits his role and while he’s not always in control, there’s enough of it.
