Title: Worth every penny…
Review: Alright, so I got this vest in the mail…and the packaging was torn to pieces. I didn’t have high hopes about the condition of the vest and the weights, but I opened it up and…All the weights were sitting in a pile at the bottom of the box. The vest itself was still wrapped up in the original plastic. I checked over the weights, they all look good, and the right number as well. The vest is the real winner though. I love it. This vest has shoulder pads that are wide enough so that the don’t cut into your shoulders, and they are decently thick. Not to say that I can’t feel the weight, but it doesn’t hurt. The vest is a decent size. It is big enough that it holds all of the weight, but small enough that it doesn’t get in the way while I am walking around. I am still pretty big right now, and have been working on losing weight, so getting this vest allows me to increase the weight I carry when walking. I pretty much will add back each pound I lose by way of the vest, keeping my body working. So I am 6’4″, 300lbs. and the vest fits. Now I don’t have any extra room in it, but I can still breathe easily with it on. The vest is sturdy and I don’t feel like I will have to worry about it falling apart any time soon. On the vest there are pockets for the sandbags to slide into. There are both “double” pockets, and “single” pockets. I found that getting the sandbags into the single pockets, all you have to do is hold the bag by one end and let the sand fall to the other. Now lay down the sandbag, with the “empty” side toward the pocket. Slide it in as far as you can, then lift up the entire vest, allowing the sand in the bag to start filling out the end of the sandbag that is already in the pocket. Then just shake the vest up and down, and the sandbag slides right in. I just wouldn’t want to fight putting it in and taking it out a lot. Overall, even though the packaging was damaged, I feel that this vest is going to work for me for a very long time, the price was great, and I can start at lower weight and work my way up. As of right now, the 80lb vest is the best price per pound, drastically so actually. I was planning on the 40 or 60 until I realized the 60 and 80 cost almost the exact same. And this vest is worth twice what it cost. Great bargain, without giving up quality.

Title: Great product
Review: Exactly what I expected, and the ability to control how much weight and where you want it located is great. The velcro strap works well and you can really start to feel the vest after the 20+ minutes mark.

Title: Update: Broke after 15 uses, but seller was responsive
Review: UPDATE: As you can see from below description, a couple of the seams in the vest started to unravel with just 15 or so uses. However, I contacted the seller, and they sent me a replacement vest which seems to be holding up pretty well. As a result, I have updated my review to reflect: a responsive seller who stands by its product; a well-built and solid vest, with well-designed weight pockets that should last a long time. I can recommend this vest now. Aside from the initial quality control issues/problems I experienced, I think it’s still the best weight vest I can find for a reasonable price.Original writeup is below; downgrade to one star due to the following:I used it only about 15 times and using only 30 lbs of the maximum 40 lbs capacity, and you can see from the attached pictures that the vest is already starting to fall apart. I’ve only used it for walking on my treadmill indoors, and you can see that it just doesn’t seem to be very well made. I am writing the seller/manufacturer and will update this based on their response. If it’s not favorable, my one star downgrade remains. Hopefully they’ll do the right thing since I only bought it four months ago and it’s received very light usage. In the mean time I DO NOT recommend it.OK, got that off my chest. I’ll be 61 years old soon, hence, a senior citizen, AKA “an old man” as my daughters sometimes call me. I bought the vest to round out the equipment I have in my home gym. I wanted something I could adjust the weight on, and wear while working in my yard, around the house, or walking on my treadmill. Some say this chafes, but it really doesn’t. Not if you wear a shirt. Of course it’ll chafe if you wear it bare against your skin because it is solidly built, with very good seams, and heavy duty quality materials. The weights that came with it (I got the 40 pound vest) where all in the box, and they fit PERFECTLY into the various pockets for them. So this tells me two things: 1. The manufacturing tolerances for both the vest and the individual weight packs are precise, and demonstrative of good quality construction; and, 2. It’s going to take a little bit of patience and care when you’re putting the weights in. Taking them out is no problem. And putting them in is no problem either if you follow this advice: Start by putting the ones at the front and/or back bottom row in first while you’re holding up the vest with one hand, or propped up against something; then move on to putting weights in the top row of the vest. This makes it so much easier and makes the job quick. It doesn’t smell. But since I wear a cotton shirt underneath it while I’m working out, I think eventually some of the sweat may work it’s way into the vest, at which point a light hand soaking/wash may be recommended. But this is normal for anything that comes into contact with the human body. It’s a great buy and fits perfectly on my 5′ 7″, 145 pound frame.
