A national bestseller!

When it comes to romance, sometimes it doesn’t hurt to play games. A fun YA romcom full of fake dating hijinks!

No one loves musicals more than Riley Morris—her dream is to be a Broadway director. But when the spring show is canceled, Riley has to figure out a way to bring it back. Easier said than done—she’s stuck working at her dad’s game store. The place that means more to him than his family does.

Riley can’t waste time at a dead-end job when her entire future is resting on making a name for herself. So she convinces her co-worker Nathan Wheeler—the floppy-haired, glasses-wearing guy she barely knows from school—to help her. In exchange, she’ll help him make his gamer-girl crush jealous. Plus it won’t hurt to show her egotistical ex, Paul, just what he’s missing without her.

Soon Riley and Nathan are “a couple,” and people seem to believe it. But selling the ruse means joining Nathan’s role-playing game. To Riley’s surprise, the game is almost fun. And even more surprising, flirting with Nathan doesn’t require as much acting as she thought it would. . . .

And don’t miss Kristy Boyce’s next gaming romance, Dating and Dragons, coming January 2025!

Title: One of my new favorites!!
Review: What’s the last book you read in a day?? Today I started and finished “Dungeons and Drama,” by Kristy Boyce! It was so easy to fall in love with Riley and Nathan and I just couldn’t put it down!! In fact I started it over right away because I felt like I needed to savor it more the second time🤭If you know me, you know I have a soft spot for YA Romance! It’s so sweet and I love the magic of high school love! It just gives me all the warm fuzzies!! 🥰 I loved the musical theater and the gaming aspects in this book. It was such a cool opposites attract kind of story!I also really loved the friendships! There are a few spots that were so sweet and tender between friends that I just couldn’t help but smile! 💕 This one is definitely going on my comfort reads/favorites list! If you love YA and Lynn Painter vibes type of books, definitely check this one out!!

Title: Very cute and easy read!
Review: This book was so incredibly cute and funny! Loved the characters; and would give anything to know them later in life! Definitely recommend this easy read! The characters were a bit young for me, but I typically imagine younger characters older to enjoy the story more!

Title: Geeky and adorable!
Review: A captivating read with well-crafted characters, particularly the protagonists Riley and Nathan. The story features poignant moments, especially in Riley’s relationship with her father. The incorporation of Dungeons and Dragons into the narrative adds a fun twist. The evolving dynamic between Nathan and Riley is believable and satisfying. Overall, the book is charming, heartwarming, and highly recommended for its ability to entertain and engage the reader.

Title: Nerdy and oh so cute! 💕
Review: Let me just start by saying I knew I was probably really going to love this book when I spotted the cover and read the description alone (because how could you not?? It’s the cutest 💕). But I am still in shock at how much this one ended up making my heart race in all the best ways! It was the perfect blend of funny, nerdy, witty and sweet. The way Kristy Boyce writes… There’s something in it that made it nearly impossible to put this book down! It was such a quick and easy read for me. I was cheering on Riley and Nathan ALL the dang time. And fake dating isn’t always my thing because so many factors in that trope have to align for me to get into it story-wise, but honestly Kristy ticked off every single one in her writing. Especially so with the banter and romantic tension between these two… *chef’s kiss* I would have swooned if I knew any guys like Nathan when I was in high school. I thankfully ended up meeting my nerdy partner while I was in college, but I would have loved to even just know a really tender-hearted, thoughtful guy in high school like him.Not to mention the FOUND FAMILY in this book! If I could pick one trope to live and die by in a non-romantic sense, it would be Found Family. It’s just like the feeling of being wrapped in a comfy, cozy blanket to me. I was in love with Riley’s found friend group. It was just top tier for me, overall. This book is pure joy in book form!A huge thank you to Delacorte Press (Random House) and NetGalley for this e-ARC! This was my first ARC novel read through NetGalley and I really am so grateful for it. Can’t wait to talk this one up to everyone I know now that it comes out in less than a week! Especially think that this story will speak to so many of my nerdy friends’ (and likely also their equally-nerdy partner’s) high school/young adult experience. BIG fan of this book!

Title: Great fun for fans of dnd and musical theater
Review: Anyone who loves DND and musicals like me will have fun with this book. A cute YA romcom full of fake dating, nerdy friends, and musical theater! The characters were fun and believable. I was rooting for them the whole way through. The little shout outs to favorite musicals, cult classic movies, and dungeons and dragons game play are thoroughly enjoyable for those who love all three. You can tell the author is also a true fan. I plan on buying my niece a copy.

Review: I thought this book was very cute. Was it the most compelling of stories? Of course not, but it was refreshing and easy. The cover is adorable and the book premise was very close to home, as a d&der musical theatre nerd myself.
