A personal, surprising, and heart-warming book wherein two spiritual masters of our time advance the central questions of life and faith. “Brother David Steindl-Rast and Father Anselm Grün are figures of hope, people who by the power of their example can offer an orientation in a world that has become too complex to comprehend. The spirituality they radiate is an everyday thing that is nevertheless both profound and vivid. . . . “Our conversations, on which this book is based, could be read as a ‘crash course’ in Christian spirituality. This book will be an inspiration and an aid to spiritual life for many people of our time, whether they are believers or not.” Johannes Kaup From the Introduction

Title: Warm. Inviting. One minute sticks with you all day.
Review: I savored this book. It was my companion to morning coffee. I sipped the wisdom from its pages. It brought me joy as few books can. I felt as if I too sat at the table with these two wise men. Well done.

Title: Deep, Rich, and Spontaneous – One to Relish
Review: David Steindl-Rast and Anselm Grun speak to the heart of the matter, much beyond sectarianism. A wonderful book to read, ponder, and relish. I have enjoyed the spontaneity and depth of their comments.

Review: As the author of a book by the same title, I was very interested to hear what two monks would say about the move beyond belief, while remaining within the religious walls. They did not disappoint. These authors generously share their largely nonliteral (more open-ended, creative and unitive) form of faith, a ““…universal human primeval faith [which is] is expressed in the various traditions in quite different ways and is formulated in very different terms. But common to all us humans is trust in life, in the [unfathomable] Mystery we [all] point to (emphasis added) with the word God…trusting in one another [and in]…what can join us all together in our innermost being.”When the conventional world comes to realize the unifying value of this type of faith, (as opposed to the exclusive and divisive literalism explicit in most traditional religion) a lot of our societal problems will be eased.
