Title: Prefect for beginners.
Review: Here’s my take on this entry-level audio interface from a novice perspective.Firstly, the setup process was refreshingly simple. The AudioBox 96 is USB-powered, and connecting it to my computer was as easy as plug-and-play. The included Studio One Artist software, while offering powerful features, was surprisingly user-friendly for someone just starting out. The quick start guide provided clear instructions, making the initial setup smooth and hassle-free.The build quality of the AudioBox 96 is robust, giving a sense of durability despite its compact size. The metal chassis feels solid, and the controls have a reassuring responsiveness. This is particularly beneficial for someone like me who’s still learning the ropes and may not be as gentle with their equipment. The two combo mic/instrument inputs are perfect for a beginner’s setup. They accommodated my dynamic microphone and electric guitar with ease, and the 48V phantom power was a welcome addition for future microphone upgrades. The clear LED indicators helped me monitor input levels, avoiding the common pitfalls of recording too hot or too low.The audio quality exceeded my expectations. The 24-bit resolution and 96 kHz sampling rate provided crisp and detailed recordings, even with my limited experience in mixing and production. The low-latency monitoring was particularly beneficial, allowing me to hear myself in real-time without any distracting delays. For someone just getting into recording and producing music, the AudioBox 96 includes all the essentials without overwhelming with unnecessary features. It strikes a fantastic balance between simplicity and functionality, giving beginners the tools they need to explore their creativity without feeling intimidated. In conclusion, the PreSonus AudioBox 96 is a fantastic entry-level audio interface for beginners. Its straightforward setup, sturdy build, and impressive audio quality make it an ideal choice for those taking their first steps into the world of home recording. Whether you’re a singer-songwriter, podcaster, or aspiring producer, the AudioBox 96 offers a solid foundation for your creative journey.

Title: If you get a good unit, You have a great piece of hardware
Review: I was hesitant because of the reviews of people having a unit that gives a loud freq buzz sound. No problems with my unit and I am so happy i bought it. Aside from its sturdy build and good looks, it just works great. Mic pres sound awesome. My only issue is that if i am surfing the web and play a song on youtube, The audio doesnt seem to want to playback throught the interface headphones. (i think it will play if you have speakers connected though) Even if i set my interface up as the main playback in the sound options menu on my computer, it wont play through. Doesnt affect my opinion at all since it does what its supposed to do. But, The scarlett (focusrite) didnt have this issue. Having said that. I love the sound of the audiobox. Great unit at a great price.

Title: Good controls, good sound reproducion
Review: I’m not even a hobbyist so take this as you will. I needed a way to pull in two sound inputs for a training video. It was problematic to have two USB inputs to the OBS Studio app I was using on Windows 11. When both mics were plugged in it was giving errors about USB bandwidth. An external audio interface was the recommended solution.Setup was easy enough. No external drivers needed, just plug it in to the USB port. I’m using dual Audio Technica AT2020 mics and a set of cheap monitoring headphones. Windows detected the device and it was immediately available in OBS Studio.Configuring the contols took a little longer. I found that I had to turn the gain on both mics almost all the way up. There’s just a small area where the input was loud enough without suddenly hearing a lot of background white noise. I.e., it didn’t gradually get louder but sounded almost like a switch was flipped.Once recorded the sound was quite good. This may be more to do with the mics themselves, but there was no background noise as I’d heard in the headphone monitor. The device also worked fine with a Linux desktop.Only concern I had is that the USB interface is the older style. I don’t know if this limits the bandwidth of if it evern matters, but it’s just another cable to carry around.

Title: Less money-Great buy
Review: Took 5 minutes. Plugged it in and opened Garage Band. It was recognized immediately. Changed system prefs for sound in and out, and sound prefs in Garage Band for in and out and I was recording my guitar right off. I will be using other software to record but it works as it is supposed to without any software downloaded. I registered it after I saw it work. Then I plugged it into my ipad and iphone and with the camera connector plug from Apple. It works. I ran my pedal board through it also into the mac mini. (M1 chip, Monterey.) Clean sound. I also turned every knob off and ran it into my mac with no problem! Yes, no preamp or mixer or?? Sound through my mac external speakers. 80$ prime day sale.!!! Insane to think I was going to shell out 140- 220$ for the same thing because of a name. I will try out their software just for a giggle but I like Logic and GB. (maxx black cosmic guitar on Soundcloud if you want to hear my recordings)
