Review: Billy Joel – The Essential Video Collection is one hour and forty-four minutes and was released on DVD on November 20, 2001. At first start I thought this was a live CD because it started off with a live performance of Piano Man and not the video version. The video has twenty-two songs on it and some of them like All For Leyna and Big Shot were recorded right in the studio. The one song that surprised me the most was Big Shot; I never knew Billy made a video for that song. The Essential Video Collection is missing We Didn’t Start the Fire and the River of Dreams video. I would suggest you buy the Greatest Hits Volume III, but a lot of people did not give it good reviews. If you can get it on DVD, then go with Eye of the Storm with the missing songs on it. Overall this is a great DVD to add to your Billy Joel collection. Review: You’re the Piano Man. Great video and audio here for a look back at some of his early videos that certainly show their age but the music is timeless and Billy’s young, fit and still has his hair! What more could you ask for? It’s all here!

Title: A Lot Of Fun, but . . . .
Review: I recently saw Billy Joel in concert for the 17th time, since 1980. So I know every part of his career from 1971 to 1993 and this video collection does not cover it all. The music videos on it are excellent and they really make you appreciate his 1977-1987 band. What’s interesting is that the timeline and discography are right up into the 2000s but there are no videos included from the late 80s and 90s. Also there is not one promotional clip from The Stranger, sure there must be at least one out there they could have included. But anyway it’s great to see the videos again and it’s a reminder of how great MTV and VH1 used to be. And also a reminder of how incredible a writer Billy is.

Review: Billy Joel now 70 +. To see him play back in 1970’sTo present day is an amazing feet for any entertainer !!! And he makes it look easy (even though we know it’s not)This dvd is done recent years. He has played over 120 times at Madison square garden. Everyone one sold out only performer to ever do that.Believe me, you won’t go wrong buying this DVD it is really great !!! Well worth the price.

This has a great collection of all the music videos that are part of the amazing catalog of Billy joel. who doesn’t love to watch old music videos and listen to some of your favorite music well Billy Joel is definitely Top Notch when it comes to songs love to play this listen to it in the background and catch glimpses of the videos once in a while.

Review: I bought this for the 5.1 surround sound mixes. What’s that? Most music is in stereo (left & right channels). This breaks it down into 5 channels, including a front for voice and two in the back. The .1 in 5.1 is for bass. By doing this, you hear, for example, each voice in the amazing harmonies of The Longest Times. It’s like Joel and his band are singing in your living room. The extra bass gives the songs more muscle in all songs. Guitars and pianos are clear because you hear each in their own channel, instead of mashing them together in stereo. I also liked the early nightclub footage for capturing the excitement of the crowd and the band feeding off that energy. Lots of songs, easy to navigate. Forget watching these video on YouTube. Get this DVD.

Review: これも輸入盤のDVDである。Billy Joelも高校の時に友人がファンで良くレコードを聴かされた(^^;。私も好きになったので迷惑ではなかったのだが。懐かしい曲と、昔見たような気がするPVで青春を思い出した(^^;しかし、初めて聞いた曲と映像もあった。amazonで他の方もかいているけど、レイチャールズとのデュエットはぐっと来ます。じっくり聴かせる曲も、体が動いてしまう曲も、いろいろ入っていて楽しめます。字幕は入っていないので、歌詞も知りたい方と、リージョンコードに不安がある方は国内版の方をどうぞ。＃価格はだいぶ違うけど。
