Title: Great tool. Powerful and can take a lot of abuse.
Review: This planer is incredible. I thought it was going to be cheap and break easily but gave it a shot because it was inexpensive. I used this hand planer on an 8 X 11 100 year old wood floor that people though was hopeless. The floor had deep pits, sand damage, salt damage and a lot of pet damage over 100 years. It’s very accurate for making small skims over small spaces so I could run it down one board at a time without damaging boards next to each other. It is great for feathering in different levels. If I didn’t have this tool I could not have made the floor as nice with the floor sander. The floor was that bad! I’ve had it two years now and it wont die no matter how much I abuse it. By far the best specialty tool I ever bought.

Review: Needed to shave some doors down, and this worked well. Light and easy to use. I cut the door with a saw and used this to smooth the kerf marks and fine tune the fit. For the price it was accurate and easy to adjust, but you can’t take big bites.

Review: As I get older it gets harder to do certain things in my shop and hand planing is one. As with most WEN products I have purchased over the years, this planer does a good job for its intended purpose. Light weight for an electric planer and easy to control, it is not for a high volume professional shop, but it is perfect for the DIY woodworker.

Title: Seems like a good tool
Review: The 3.8 amp hand planer works pretty good. Just to be on the safe side, I started with the depth level set for Zero, and then I gradually moved it to 1/128th, then more, then more. I was afraid of moving the depth too much too early. On soft wood, it can really eat it up if you are not paying close attention. Now I have a 5-gallon bucket of saw dust shavings after only a few hours of work.

Title: Amazing! Totally what I needed.
Review: I live in a 1912 fourplex and one of the doors (original, solid wood) would not close after recent foundation settling. I have never used an electric sander, but for $30 and one little job I could certainly try it. I literally just fixed the door situation with no experience or even looking up a tutorial. I feel so handy! The door now closes.I have no idea if this tool has any longevity, but it worked great on an old hardwood door and for $30 I could fix the problem without bothering the landlord.

Title: Door planer.
Review: Received my Wen planer today. Took it out of the box and planed a sticky door within minutes. Very easy to use. The hose from my vacuum cleaner fit perfectly on the planer and there was zero mess. If you are looking to fix a few sticky doors, this is a great product at a low price.

Title: Works fine, but not if you’re a lefty
Review: The tool gets the job done, but the configuration of the buttons make it challenging to use left-handed. It’s basically impossible. The only other negative is the dust extraction adapter necessary is not a standard size.

Review: I purchased this electric planner to make old door fit into existing frames.The planner needs some fine tuning which unfortunately the instructions do not instruct you on how to tune it. As others in the reviewd have pointed out, there are youtube tutorials on how to do this. It requires some minor filing and adjustment and then you will be good to go.Once its tuned, I found the planner cuts straight and accurately. I wish it came with a bag attachment as the filings go everywhere. These can be bought seperately but it would have been nice to have included. Otherwise, this is a great tool for the price point.
